George Herman Ruth, Babe Ruth, the "Sultan of Swat".Legendary for his homeruns, played for the Red Sox and the Yankees. An American icon. The twenties wouldnt be the same without him.



Biography


George Herman Ruth, Jr., better know as Babe Ruth. Arguably one of the best players of all time. Babe Ruth was born February 6, 1895 in Baltimore he started in the major leagues in 1914 through his years of playing he won many awards and games. He won seven pennants and four World Series. He won plenty of awards before he retired but he retired 1935. One year after he retired he was inducted into the hall of fame as one one of the first five ever. He was inducted in 1936 along with Ty Cobb and Walter Johnson.[1]

Baseball Stuff

Babe Ruth batted left and threw left for the Red Sox and then for the New York Yankees. Babe had a record of sixty home runs for one season.and 714 home runs his whole career. Baseball remained a popular attraction because of Babe Ruth.




Legacy/ Accomplishments

Babe Ruth's mark on the New York Yankees is still evident today. He still holds four of the top five single season home run performances.

1999: Associate Press Athlete Of The Century Team
1999: Sporting News Greatest Player Of All Time
Babe is one of the most famous and wealthy people in the world, he is legendary for his home runs.

Historical Significance


Babe Ruth is a very important part of the twenties because he single handly changed the way of baseball. Babe rescued the game. the twenties wouldn't have been the same with out Babe Ruth because he made baseball come to life, if it weren't for him then baseball would have probably faded out and wouldn't be popular today. Babe Ruth is among the most famous and wealthy people in the world. With out Babe the twenties wouldn't have been the same.
